'
I AM THAT I AM'
by
MIHIRA
Everyone
knows by himself. He knows himself
by name and by the name of his parents, by his address, by his telephone number
etc., Beyond that it is doubtful if
he knows himself.
Some
people know themselves by their thoughts and intelligence.
Some know themselves by their own philosophy of themselves.
Every human being has his own philosophy, which is different from the
philosophy of others.
This
is how the nature plays with its children.
Nature allows us to live without knowing our real self.
It allows us to behave in our own way.
Many
of us know quite a little about things about others and a less of ourselves.
As we try to make our path distinguished
our philosophy differs from others.
The more distinguished we try to become ,the less useful we are to
others.
Unless
we have something common with others, we can’t be useful to others or others
can’t be useful to us. Observe
how the Devas, the intelligences in nature work.
Think of the air that we breathe in.
It is common to everyone. The
sunshine, the rain, the water, the fire etc., are common to everyone.
This is the reason why they are useful to all, making us all live.
It
is the common sense that makes useful and not
the uniqueness or distinction or an elevated position.
This common sense is very rare nowadays, not common with everybody.
The
Lord wants us to know how He lives in us. He
lives in everyone as a common property. He
does not discriminate by creed, sex
, religion and nation, high or low. He
is not ashamed of living in the lowest beast
of animal kingdom.
He is inevitably present even in the highest philosopher or the greatest
man. Probably this is one quality
that makes him God.
It
is not the greatness that makes Him God. The
concept of greatness is only a
disease of human being, a disease
which exists in no other kingdom in nature .
For example - the concept of greatness never exists inanimals or plants.
Animals are bigger or smaller, powerful or weak, but they are not greater
or inferior.
If
we see a lion and a dog, we feel that the lion is a superior animal and
that the dog is inferior. There is
no difference in animal as far as
the animals themselves are concerned.
We have a mental disease of looking at them in our own light.
We
note high and low, superior and inferior.
We must initiate a process of knowing what is I am and what is not I am. That is the difference between being the self and the Master - So hum asmi.
