The Science of Man

The science of man teaches us the way to establish a proper communication between the lower and higher conscusness, Then to a perefect union and finally to a realization that all the levels are made of the same ethernal level which is filled with the cosmic consciouness .then he findes his environment also being filled with the same thing which he is filled .He calles the cosmic consciouness on the real mind of "I AM", the "I AM" in him is in all.

Yoga is among the oldest of the practical keys for the men to enter himself in every one and to experience himself as existing in everyone around him.

Unfolding into "the himself" in everyone is the only key to un-lock the secret of happnies. The drop-off of man's false knoledge, which is different from the rest of the world, makes him exist as the one. It is the only way to gain mastary. This is the main aim of the yogapractice.

PRANAYAMA

Most of the are under the the wrong impression that pranayama is holding the breath and holding in as much breath for as long as possable it is true that air is essential for survival. then so are food and water then necessary into our body it will have a deleterious effect so is the forcing in of more air.
Pranayama is restraining the ‘Prana’ What is Prana? Prana is the infinite, Omnipresent, Omnipotent power of this universe.

“Pranohi Bhagavaneesah, Prano Vishnu pitamahah, Pranohi dharyathe lokai Sarvam Pranamayam Jagat” Adtharvana Veda.

Prana is Brahma. At the beginning of creation there is only this Prana. Through Akasha this becomes the air, then liquid that becomes solid, the Sun, the Moon, the Planets, earth, animals, trees, and human beings. Prana is Vishnu infinite and Omnipresent, essential for the existence of all living and non-living things. Prana is Rudra at the end of the cycle. All the forces in the universe resolve back into Prana. It is Prana that is manifested as various forms of energy and into various actions. It is Prana that is manifested into various forces on earth like motion, gravitation magnetism . It is through Prana we breathe, think and move our muscles. Circulation, respiration, the functioning of the nervous system, including the higher intellectual functions are controlled by Prana.

Most of the people are under the wrong impression that Pranayama is holding the breath, and holding in as much breath for as long as possible. It is true that air is essential for survival. Then so are food and water. If we force more food and more water than necessary into our body, it will have a deleterious effect. So is the forcing in of more air.

These people have forgotten that in our chest there is one more important organ in addition to the lungs, the heart. During inhalation the chest moves out, the diaphragm, demands ‘Negative’ pressure and air enters the lungs and blood enters the heart. If we forcibly hold our breath for a long time the pressure inside the chest becomes ‘Positive’ so neither air can enter the lungs nor the blood into the heart. Sometimes this may be dangerous especially if the individual is having a heart problem. He may faint (called a syncope attack) or even drop dead. Please remember that all the air we breathe in is not oxygen. It is only one fifth, the remaining four fifths is nitrogen and other gases.

Now let us go to Pranayama, the restraining of Prana. Before this there are three steps: Yama, including Ahimsa, Truthfulness, Non-stealing, continence and non-receiving of any gifts. Niyama including cleanliness, containment, study of astrology and surrender to God, and then comes Asana a stable, comfortable posture. Yama and Niyama, are the basic moral training without which no practice of Yoga will succeed. After these steps, yogi will begin to realise the fruits of his practice. Without these, however, Pranayama, will be a big waste of the greatest source of energy. For physical well being, walking, running, cycling and swimming etc. will be sufficient

Don’t practice Pranayama on your own.
Get a health check up, pirtucularly cardic and reporatory evolouation before starting.
Always perform it in a pollution free place.
Before sunrise and at sunset are the best times for practising pranayama.
If possible, it can be done before lunch and dinner too.

Allot a special room or at least a screened portion of a room separately for the practice of Pranayama. The north east part of the house is preferable. Do not sleep in that area. Enter that place only when the body and mind are clean. Over a period of time that place will be filled with Prana. You will feel happiness and peace if you enter that place. That is the main purpose of going to temples and other religious places. Whenever you are disturbed, you can find peace and tranquillity in your place of Sadhana.

Let us control the Prana closest to us, the Prana in our own body, before contemplating the control of Prana in the outer universe. There are two currents on either side of our spinal cord. These are called Ida and Pingala. To practice Pranayama, sit up straight preferably in Padmasana, facing east or north. By a little practice this will become very easy. Usually our breathing is irregular. So first regularisation in measured way is important. This will harmonise the system. First take a breath to the count of ten, hold it to the count of ten and exhale to the count of ten. If you cannot hold it for the count of ten, it can be done for a lesser time (5:5:5) while inhaling, think of “Hum” and while exhaling “Sah” (Hamsah=I am the Brahma). You can practice this regular breathing while sitting, walking, or while doing any of your routine work. Anybody can do this holding of the breath outside as long as one comfortably can. This gives peace and tranquillity.

Then we can practice Pranayama as mentioned in ancient literature. With your thumb close the right nostril, breathe in for the count of one. This is called Puraka. Imagine that the inhaled air is passing along the nerve centres to Muladhara the lowest and basic lotus. Hold it there for a count of four. This is called Kumbhaka. Then exhale it through the right nostril to a count of two-Rechaka. Then hold your breath with the air outside for a count of one. Then repeat this process with the other nostril. The whole process of 1:4:2:1 is equal to one Pranayama. Instead of just counting one, two, three, repetition of “Om” or any other sacred word is preferable. Let the word flow in and out with the breath, rhythmically, harmoniously and you will find the whole body becoming rhythmical, peaceful, restful, calmness comes over the face. The voice becomes pleasant and beautiful.

Over a period of time Sushumna opens and you can feel the radiant energy Prana ascending along various chakras - Muladhara (Bhuha) Swadhistana (Bhuvaha) Manipura (Suvaha), Anahata (Mahah), Visudhi (Janah), Ajna (Tapah) and finally the Sahasrara (Satyam).

Whether you wish to follow Karma yoga, Jnana yoga or Bhakti yoga, you can practice Pranayama. This can be practiced, like any other science, by persons of any religion, caste, creed and nationality.

Our Pranasakthi is basically from Parasakthi, the mother of the entire universe and the primary source of energy. We have forgotten this relationship as our memory is covered with material desires, greed ,anger, envy and ego. Try to refresh your memory. Please remember that this attempt is not one sided. She is also eagerly waiting for her children to come back to her. She always helps you in your every attempt to reach her.

Meditation of the month

The man who lives in the belief that self is body dies a slave to the body. The man who lives believing that self resides in the body, dies a prisoner shackled to the body. But the one who realises that body is given as an implement for the use of the will self lead a life of spiritual quest and will, at the end of life attain immortality. There is no death for such a man. He just sheds the physical body. When man realises his true identity to be enlightened consciousness, he will perceive body, mind, sense organs etc., as rays or fragments of that consciousness. He begins to see “self” as the source of light and his body as an emanation. Physical bodies are recognised by him as differentiations from that light. Death is understood by him as the merging of differentiations into their source. The person who has knowledge of this secret is no longer bound by bodily attachments or illusions. The experience of the light in him will help him to see others as embodiments of the same light. He realises that all men are manifestations of light from the same cosmic fire. When it is realised that all are “Limbs” of the same cosmic Body the welfare of that Body acquires a special significance. Then an understanding grows in him that the nation is more important than the individual. Similarly the true meaning of nationalism also will become clear only then. A limb cannot have an existence away from or apart from the body. By the same token an individual, a limb of the nation, cannot be well unless the nation is well set. Thinking about this will make it easier to give greater prominence to nationality than to individuality. Such an outlook will tremendously improve the prosperity of the nation and with it the wealth and well being of the individuals who belong to it. When a nation is inhabited by people who put their selfinterest above the interests of that nation then it can only end in disaster to itself and to its people. People will prosper only when they work for the Prosperity of their nation. Thus, ‘dharma’ is that which, being protected by us, protects us.

Meditation in 33°
How to get relief from stressMeditation in 33°

Meditation is a process of tuning. Different vehicles are working in the human constitution and they have to be tuned in the proper order.

In the modern age life has become so fast especially in towns and cities that stress has become inevitable. Especially to people who are in jobs where competition is inevitable, the stress is immeasurable. There is a solution.

Many people have followed the formulae given by the Masters of Wisdom and lived a pleasant life even in this struggle for existence. The main objective is to train the mind, and meditation is one of the many solutions. Meditation is a process of achieving or attaining nothing. In fact, it is but removing what is not necessary. The human being by birth is in meditation. He gets disturbed from meditation because he never really cared how to tune himself.

Meditation is a process of tuning. Different vehicles are working in the human constitution and they have to be tuned in the proper order. Meditation is something like testing a microphone before a speech is delivered. It is something like having all the instruments tuned before the start of a concert. So, if you want to make your day successful, spend a little of your time tuning yourself to face the day. We suggest the following points.

Be more cheerful, and people around you will also be cheerful with your behaviour. In this experiment, you are the teacher and the student. Why don’t you give yourself a small trial? There is a scientific method for meditation passed on by the Masters of Wisdom. Follow the steps given below.

1. Select a place which is calm and clean. Keep this place as clean as possible. Let that place be used only
for meditation and for nothing else, least of all discussions.

2. Select a time preferably two hours before sunrise.

3. Once you select your place of meditation and time of meditation, try not to change it at any cost.

4. By meditating at the same place and same time, your mind starts to travel in an orderly direction without
your own knowledge. There are channels of energy in space which co-operate with the human
constitution and they start trying to make a contact with the energy centres in you. This gives a new type
of tuning with the cosmos which will be reflected in your daily life as a systematic rhythm filled with
    enthusiasm, and not routine.

5. Now, in the place for meditation, select a seat of your own liking. Let this seat be not too high nor too
low. If the seat is high, then you have a fear of falling down; if the seat is too low, you have a feeling of
going down. Also try to have no feeling of high or low with the persons you are meeting daily. If you feel
high enough one day you have to fall. If you feel low, you seek somebody’s help to lift you up. Know that
    you have to lift yourself.

6. Sit in a relaxed position. Try to travel mentally from head to foot. See that there is no tension. Meditation
    is relaxation and not concentration.

7. Now, you select the name of a deity or master or god whom you venerate. This name works as a mantra.
Then slowly in a musical way start uttering the name. Hear it and enjoy it.

8. Now select the shape of the god of your mantra and then try to imagine the shape mentally investing it
with all the beauty you can. Never meditate on deities with fearsome faces. Meditate on deities with
pleasant smiles and very favourably disposed to you.

9 When you start meditating like this there is a flood of thoughts occupying your mind. Do not stop it even if
it is bad. Try to submit all your thoughts to your deity.

10. When you are meditating, keep minimum distance between yourself and your deity. So the easiest
method is meditating on your heart centre.

11. In the initial stages, it is difficult to meditate the way you like. So, for a few seconds or minutes you
meditate on an equilateral triangle as big as possible, and a circle in it. Imagine that you are sitting in this
circle and again meditate on an equilateral triangle at your heart centre. Just think about it and leave it,
      and do not concentrate.

12. Now turn your mind on to your breath. Meditate on how you are breathing. Initially we think that we are
breathing. After some time we realise a background consciousness makes us breathe. Nature is kind
enough to take this important activity into her hands and not to leave it in the hands of human beings.
Breath is important and we really do not think of it most of the days. This is a direct proof that our mind
craves for lots of things which are not important. Hence, this strain and confusion.

13. If it is possible, meditate on breath as your own god. Meditate on the word you utter, the breath and the
shape all together at the same time.

14. When you start submitting your mind to this breath, in the name of the Lord, your mind slowly stops
reacting to things and persons which are not necessary. That means the environment and people around
you slowly stop influencing your thoughts. This makes you more efficient in doing your own work, and
thoughts hanging around and are not necessary, slowly cease.

15. After some practice, your breath and your mind start merging in one another. When this merging starts
you feel the presence of the Lord who is the indweller. It is a sure proof that our meditation process is
going in the right direction. Then the other steps of meditation reveal to you by themselves.

16. Whether you have noticed or not, the Lord is Omnipotent and Omnipresent. He is continuously around
us. We dwell in Him. He dwells in every human being. Unless we start the meditation process, we
cannot realise this. We are so busy in our own work that we find little time to recognise Him or live with
Him. So we must have a process to have His continuous presence.
Now, you meditate on whomsoever you are speaking to. In the initial stages it is very difficult to
practice. When somebody scolds you, you cannot see god in him, but try to practice as long as
possible. A day will come when everybody speaks pleasantly with you. This is a very subtle and long
      process.

17. Before you practice the above, try to be in meditation when you are speaking with others. Why are we
meditating? To get relieved from stress. Why don’t we start speaking pleasantly and at the same time
keep our minds as calm as possible? The level on which you are speaking will stimulate the same levels
in other persons. For example: If you doubt somebody that means you are overestimating him. First try
to keep your work under your control.

18. Master C V V says, " if somebody comes to you for help know that you have been helped by him". So
when you help somebody, remember that you have been doing this for God who is Omnipotent. If you
are helped by anybody, know that God is sending help to you through that person. In such a type of
contemplation, your mind is continuously aware of the background consciousness which is your real self
      which has been named God.

19. Master C V V says again, "Karma can neither be postponed nor purged but can be neutralised". All
persons you meet every day and all the circumstances you face every day are all of your own doing. So
you can neutralise it by the good work you do today. As far as possible try not to avoid the persons or
the environment even if they are not convenient. Face them not with passiveness but with ease.

20. Postponement is one of the main reasons for stress. If you have some work on hand which is compulsory,
finish it then and there, and do not keep it pending. If you keep the work pending or postpone things, the
work piles up which naturally leads to strain. Many times we postpone many things because we do not
like them. Infuse enthusiasm into yourself by remembering that God is sending this work to you to clear off
      your karma.

21.There are only two things in this world. Understanding and not understanding. Misunderstanding is a
nonsense created by the human mind. So with your mind try not to interpret anything in a negative way.
The best method is never to allow your mind or time for discussion. If two friends discuss something in
your presence, meditate on both of them together as the representatives of God. Try not to enter into
their discussion and try if you can find a message. Never interfere when people are discussing.

22. When you start enjoying meditation, your mental stuff starts flowing towards higher things.

23. Try to keep your mind and body as clean as possible. Regular bath, incense and clean dress help to
keep you fresh. Cleanliness has nothing to do with neatness. You may be neat but not clean even in your
dress. Herbal incense has the property of relieving the mental tension.

24. Some Masters of Wisdom advise recital of scriptures before sitting down for meditation, and applying
your mind to the meaning of a passage. You can choose the scripture in any language. Of course,
      Sanskrit is the best.

25. Meditation means submitting desires and thoughts to the higher self. If you meditate with desire you are
pulled down into the lower planes of consciousness. Thereby you lose the cosmic energies that can flow
      through your constitution.

26. When meditation is running in the right direction, emotions and unnecessary thoughts drop off without
your notice. Never fight with the lower. Embrace the higher. You have already relieved yourself from
      great strain.

27. The average man thinks of himself as his own bush of thoughts. He has to realise that he has a mind and
this mind creates these thoughts. When he slowly follows the above procedure, he can detach himself
from these thoughts. Meditation is ease and never concentration. When you are at ease, you can
observe your mind and then you are a Master of your mind.

28. When you are trying to get into ease, naturally there is no disease. You feel relaxed and your health
becomes better and you will realise that happiness is more important than any other thing in this world. It
leads to a smooth pleasant relationship with the people around you. Then the mind stops finding fault
with others. And after sometime, you will have the taste to recognise the goodness, beauty and virtue in
others. Every person is very dear to himself. There are very few persons who do not like themselves.
Know why they like themselves . Be concerned with goodness and not with faults. If you start liking
them, the positive qualities in you move in the right path and this gives you mastery over your senses and
thought processes. Your mind slowly withdraws from the things that are not necessary. Then you will be
able to find the Oneness that exists in every human being. Then you also start realising that you are a
part of this cosmos and then you start aligning yourself. Then a new series of practices start.

29. In this new process, the institute in which you have to undergo your yoga is the world around you. You
have to have discipline and this discipline is your duty. Your duty does not mean only your profession
      alone but other things also.

30. Try not to hate anybody. If you dislike a person, passive detachment in dealing with that person will
never help you. Detachment in the proper sense is inclusion and not exclusion. So try if you can be a
friend to a person whom you do not like. If he misbehaves that is not your concern. It is his own
      Sadhana.

31. Suppose you dislike somebody, suppose some person does not care for you. If he comes for help, try
to help him but never mind his selfish nature.

32. Do not desire anything. It is not wrong to have a house, money, friends etc. but it is really objectionable
if you are dejected when you cannot attain them.

33. Never try to feel proud of yourself because you are following some sadhana. If some service has been
rendered by you, do not feel proud of it. There are many persons who can do better than you and
      replace you.
